The villa is located close to Mathes, a small village 2,8 km from Georgioupoli and just 1,6 km from Lake Kournas. Georgioupoli waterfront village is the closest living area (2,8 Km) and it offers all kind of shops, sandy beaches and a picturesque small church. Furthermore, Kavros (4,6 km away) is also well organised and has all necessary amenities such as shops, mini markets, pharmacies, tavernas, restaurants and bars. The area is also an ideal location to stay since it is located in the middle of Crete which making it easy to visit most of the sights of the island. 

Lake Kournas is the largest natural, freshwater lake in Crete and is located in an enchanting landscape, between the west slopes of the White Mountains and the fertile plane of Georgioupolis. The lake and its surroundings constitute a very important ecosystem for Greece, as it is home to many species of flora and fauna. At the shore of the lake guests can find several tavernas and souvenir shops and pedalos are available for hire for those who wish to explore the lake more closely. While the lake is 'touristy', Kournas village is almost unaffected by tourism and takes visitors on a journey back in time, as do many villages in the interior of Crete. The old houses, the village square and "Kali Kardia" taverna with its delicious dishes, are the first things you will notice in Kournas.

Additionally, another attractive spot near the villa is Argiroupoli village, only 15,5 km away, well-known for the small spring waterfalls and the amount of the great, traditional taverns under the big trees!
